QBoy began his DJ life in 2001 as one of the members of 'Pac-Man: A Chi-Chi Man Sound' - the UK's first ever queer party dedicated strictly to hip-hop. From there he played regular sets at popular London club nights; 'Discotec', 'Xxtra', 'Dish', 'Dirrty', 'Handsome', and 'PHAT Club', as well as promoting and playing at his own events; 'Yo!', 'Put It In Your Mouth', 'Poof Daddy', 'Peace OUT UK', 'GULLY LIVE' and trend-setting 'R & She: The Queens Of Hip-Hop & R&B' now in its eleventh year.
As one third of the team behind R & She (London, Berlin & NYC), QBoy and his DJ partners David Oh and Neil Prince offer an all-female playlist of singalong floor-fillers from 90s classics to present day hits, creating one of the most fun and friendly parties on the scene. 'R & She' has supported super groups En Vogue, TLC and had Grammy winner DJ Spinderella of iconic group Salt-N-Pepa play at the event.
QBoy spins dance worthy commercial hip-hop & R&B at his weekly residency at London megaclub HEAVEN; Friday's he digs deep into the old school 90s and 00s bag for 'Camp Attack' whilst mixing in all the latest Hip Hop, R&B, Afrobeats and Bashment hits. .
Prior to lockdowns, QBoy had a regular booking at Ace Hotel London, delivering 'Boom Bap & Chill'; his specialist set of lesser known hip-hop and R&B tracks with a head-knocking beat or a chilled soulful lounge vibe. 90s heavy including remixes, rare gems and album cuts this unique interesting set is perfect for relaxed afternoons and evenings, pool parties, hotel lobbies and bars.
Lastly QBoy also has a specialist playlist 'Hip Hop Herstories: The Women Of Rap' serving a full herstory of female MC's from all decades and all styles, from party tracks to battle rhymes and everything in between. This distinctive set is curated from QBoy's long time obsession with women in hip-hop, featuring everyone from 1979 pioneer Sha-Rock to the latest Megan Thee Stallion track, and has been turned into a radio show that QBoy currates, hosts and produces.
