QBoy is a multi-skilled DJ, events promoter, music artist, producer, rapper and music historian, specializing in the women of hip hop.
Being of half-British, half-Gomeran descent, Marcos Brito was raised in both Basildon, Essex and La Gomera, Canary Islands.
As the UK's debut queer hip-hop artist, with no less than 5 independent releases under his belt, he has helped lead the way for diversity and inclusion within the LGBTQ community and hip-hop.
He has also shone as a TV & radio presenter for Channel 4's 'Coming Out To Class' and BBC's 'The Rise Of Homo-Hop' plus written for a host of publications and interviewed many other artists including Salt-N-Pepa, EVE, Mica Paris, Beverley Knight, Terri Walker, Nicole Wray and Mark Ronson.
He has supported the likes of TLC, En Vogue, Boy George, Lily Allen and Mykki Blanco, completed 3 successful USA tours as well as dates across Europe and Australia. Festivals include Glastonbury, Bestival, The Secret Garden Party, Milkshake, BFI Flare and Cannes Film Festival and he has been featured in The Guardian, Independent, VICE, Dazed&Confused, i:D, Mixmag, Attitude, Gay Times, Instinct, OUT, MTV, Logo, ITV, Channel 4 and BBC TV and radio to name but a few. He last musical release was his 2016 offering 'QING' - a 5 video visual E.P.
At present he is co-promoter and DJ at popular club night 'R & She: The Queens Of Hip-Hop And R&B' which now in its 11th year has featured sets by DJ Spinderella of Salt-N-Pepa and Mel Blatt of All Saints.
QBoy has a weekly residency at London's megaclub HEAVEN, curating the sound for Camp Attack's R&B room with his impressive 90s and 00s knowledge and library, adding in some new Hip Hop, Afrobeats and Bashment floor-fillers along the way.
In addition he also is the sole creator of 'Hip Hop Herstories: The Women Of Rap' - his independent radio show delving deep into the world of female rappers and hip hop artists which is available on YouTube and Mixcloud..
